From 27 to 29 June in Lublin, our colleagues Dorota, Żanna and Ewa from the Intercultural Dialogue Team took part in an international training course on intercultural integration for Polish local government staff, organised by the Council of Europe Intercultural Cities Programme (ICC) in cooperation with the Union of Polish Metropolises.
The event was hosted by the City of Lublin!
The aim of the training was to familiarise local government employees with the Council of Europe intercultural integration model and to build their capacity to respond to current challenges related to the integration of migrants and refugees. The practical sessions included a workshop on the Anti-Rumour Strategy, pioneered by the city of Barcelona, and media skills training focused on crafting inclusive messages.
During the training, all participants had many opportunities to hold discussions and share their experiences, good practices and challenges.
During our stay, we also visited the “Baobab” integration space and learned about the work of the Foreigners’ Service Point, which operates within the Residents’ Service Office of the City of Lublin.
We would like to thank the organisers for the invitation and all participants for their contributions and discussions!
