Every year, more and more foreign-language pupils join Wrocław schools, struggling with the language barrier and with school customs that are new to them. To support these pupils, the Wrocław Centre for Social Development (WCRS) has prepared the second edition of the “Start Package”, a guide for carers and foreign-language children.
The “Start Package” is a unique publication for children who are starting school in Poland, providing information about everyday life at a Polish school (including what the school day-care room (świetlica) is, what formal school attire looks like and what grading scale is used in Polish schools). The guide also includes a glossary of school terms and templates of documents useful during the school year, such as consent forms and absence notes. The guide was developed in cooperation with the Department of Education of Wrocław City Hall. The publication has been prepared in three language versions: Polish, Ukrainian and English. The brochure is free of charge and is being distributed to Wrocław primary schools.
The brochure is intended for children who are already enrolled in school. Copies will be available to pupils in Wrocław primary schools as early as next week.

З кожним роком у школах Вроцлава з’являється все більше іноземних учнів, які стикаються з проблемою мовного бар’єру та новими для них шкільними звичками. У рамках підтримки іноземних студентів Вроцлавський Центр Соціального Розвитку (WCRS) підготував друге видання «Стартового пакету» – посібника для іноземних учнів та їх опікунів.
«Стартовий пакет» — це унікальне видання про повсякденне життя польських шкіл, що містить інформацію для дітей, які розпочинають навчання в польських школах (наприклад, яка шкала оцінок діє в польських школах чи як одягнутися на шкільне свято). Посібник також містить словничок шкільних термінів і шаблони документів корисних протягом усього навчального року (наприклад, звільнення з уроків або різного типу згоди). Посібник створений у співпраці з Департаментом Освіти міста Вроцлава. Видання підготовлено у 3-х мовних версіях: польській, українській та англійській. Брошура є безкоштовною та розповсюджується серед початкових шкіл Вроцлава.
Буклет призначений для дітей, які вже навчаються в школі. Примірники будуть доступні для учнів від наступного тижня в початкових школах Вроцлава.
