The end of the year is a good time to look back on our activities at Przejście Dialogu (Passage of Dialogue) – a space run by the Wrocław Centre for Social Development. Will you join us in reminiscing about 2024?
The past year has been a time of intensive work, joint activities and countless meetings promoting intercultural dialogue in Wrocław. As a space that is part of the Wrocław Centre for Social Development, we constantly strive to ensure that our activities respond to the needs of the city’s residents – both those who feel at home here and those for whom Wrocław has only recently become a new home.
What did we do in 2024?
– Adaptation and orientation activities – language classes, consultations and information meetings on legalising residence, education, employment and everyday matters – are a vital core of our work. This year we organised Polish language classes for 5 different age groups, attended by over 100 people.
– Intercultural and integration meetings. Throughout the year we met every Tuesday for the “Let’s Talk About” language and conversation sessions you already know well, we sang together in Belarusian, Ukrainian and Polish with Akvaleria, and children from Ukraine could meet at “Ukrainian Conversations”, where they nurtured their mother tongue.
– Community activities. “Black Sea Days” organised by the College of Eastern Europe, the “Festival of Independent Belarusian Culture” with the For Your Freedom and Ours Foundation, and the “Philosophical School of Survival” with the Applied Philosophy Student Research Group. These are just a few of the many social and cultural initiatives we had the pleasure of working on together.
– Supporting youth initiatives. Creating your first social project can be quite a challenge. We are therefore all the more pleased that several young informal groups put their trust in us and tried their hand at organising activities in our space as part of the Zwolnieni z Teorii (“Exempt from Theory”) Olympiad.
And what did the past year look like in numbers?
In 2024, 20,466 of you visited us!
As many as 12,512 people took part in 754 events at Przejście Dialogu.
