What should local integration policy look like? – take part in the public consultation

One of the ways to share your opinion in the ongoing consultation is to take part in a round-table meeting. What is such a meeting and how can you take part? Please read the information below.

On 2 June 2022 (Thursday), a round-table meeting will be held during Dialogopolis’22. The discussions are scheduled for 12:30–14:30, but it is worth arriving earlier because of the programme planned for that day:

9.30–10.30 – Breakfast
10:30–12.00 – A welcoming city. A summary of the work of institutions, organisations and volunteers
12.00–12.30 – Coffee break
12.30–14.30 – Round-table meeting
14.30–15.30 – Lunch
15.30–17.30 – Summary of the round tables and debate: Local migration policies. An expert debate on local migration and integration policies.

Discussions on the following topics are planned:

  1. Intercultural education among children and young people: Which activities are the most effective in the integration process? Which ones need support? What helps and what hinders integration in the school environment?
  2. Volunteering of tomorrow: How can we make use of the historically unprecedented commitment of volunteers to supporting people arriving from Ukraine? How can this exceptional activity be turned into long-term engagement? What do volunteers, non-governmental organisations, institutions and refugees need in order to build a local civil society together – effectively and consistently?
  3. Housing and the labour market: What measures can improve access to housing (including the organisation of collective accommodation and the rental of flats)? Employment as part of becoming self-reliant.
  4. Civic participation: How can migrants and refugees be effectively included in local social processes? How can they be involved in strategic planning?
  5. Local community – neighbourhood: How can we create welcoming conditions for people to meet? How can residents be engaged in local activities in their neighbourhood communities by co-creating cultural, sports, educational, social and other initiatives?
  6. Intercultural conflicts: How can they be resolved effectively? What helps to prevent them? What kind of activities in this area should be supported by the City? Who should be involved in this process?
To take part in the round-table meeting, please register (by 30 May) using the following form: wroc.city/narada.

The public consultation is organised by Wrocław Rozmawia (Social Participation Office) together with FEPS, in cooperation with the Wrocław Centre for Social Development and the WroMigrant team from Przejście Dialogu (Passage of Dialogue) and Wielokultury Wrocław, as part of Dialogopolis ’22: An Inclusive City.
