Free psychological consultations for migrants in Wrocław

Migration is a huge challenge for anyone – it means moving to a new place and getting to know a new culture and language. Whatever the reasons for leaving one’s home, migration brings numerous changes that can lead to stress, a sense of uncertainty and emotional strain. To help people cope with these difficulties, WroMigrant, the municipal information point for migrants and refugees, has added free psychological consultations for people of all ages to its services.

What is WroMigrant?

The WroMigrant team of the Wrocław Centre for Social Development aims to help people with migration and refugee experience who live in Wrocław. The team offers comprehensive support, including free consultations and information meetings on legalising residence, employment, education, learning Polish, healthcare and official matters such as obtaining a PESEL number or a driving licence and other formalities. You can receive the necessary information in five languages: Polish, Ukrainian, English, Belarusian and Russian.

Multilingual psychological support for migrants

In autumn 2024, the WroMigrant team added free psychological consultations to its services, and they have attracted strong interest from the outset. In the first month alone, 18 people took advantage of this support.

The sessions take place in person in Wrocław. This is a pilot project, and support is offered in Polish, English, Ukrainian and Russian. To make an appointment, simply call +48 538 579 517 and arrange a convenient time. Each person can attend up to three free consultations (if all places are taken, the consultants will refer those interested to other trusted organisations and institutions). WroMigrant will announce the availability of further places on social media and its website.

The psychologists working with WCRS are trained to work with people with diverse migration experiences, including children and young people, who may face particular difficulties in adapting to life in a new country.
