How to create inclusive urban policies?

“Model of local policy for the inclusion of migrants in city life”

At the beginning of 2023, at the invitation of the Nomada Association, we joined representatives of Wrocław municipal institutions and civil society organisations in workshops and an exchange of information as part of the project “Model of Local Policy for the Inclusion of Migrants in City Life”, run by the Centre of Migration Research, University of Warsaw (CMR UW).

These meetings and the work of the research team have resulted in the publication “Model of Local Policy for the Inclusion of Migrants in City Life: Assumptions and Recommendations”.

An analysis of the needs and opinions of people involved in intercultural dialogue in Wrocław served as a case study for developing a model of local policy-making that responds to the needs of new residents and actively includes migrants in various areas of the city’s social and economic life.

Taking part in the project has been a particularly valuable experience for us as we evaluate the Wrocław Strategy for Intercultural Dialogue 2018–22 and prepare to draw up a new strategy document. We would like to thank all participants and the Centre’s research team for their involvement and commitment.
