WroMigrant: how to file your PIT return

How to file your PIT return

Our step-by-step guide to filing your PIT return online – quickly, easily and on your own.

  • On the Ministry of Finance website podatki.gov.pl/pit/, select e-Urząd Skarbowy (the online tax office).
  • Log in. You can do this using Profil Zaufany (Trusted Profile) or online banking. Alternatively, simply enter your details: PESEL or NIP number, date of birth, the amount of income from your 2020 tax return, and the amount of income from your employer’s information form for 2021 (e.g. PIT-11).
  • Choose your e-PIT.
  • Check your details. You can correct them if they are wrong, change the filing method (e.g. jointly with your spouse) and choose a public benefit organisation to receive 1% of your tax.
  • Accept and submit your return.
  • Download the Official Acknowledgement of Receipt (UPO). It is advisable to keep your PIT and UPO for 5 years.
